I haven’t said anything on social partially due to keeping a generally low profile here, but also because I couldn’t find the right words to say. But I’ve come to realize the wrong words are still better than none at all. If you don’t understand BLM; if you don’t understand these protests; if you aren’t more angry about the REASON for the protests than some loss of property—I’m not going to unfriend you, or retaliate with more hate—I want to talk to you, because everyone needs to learn, to understand, and to empathize. I cannot fathom having to walk life with the fear that some have to carry just due to the color of their skin. I am so sad for our country, for the way we’ve neglected our fellow humans, for how we’ve let it degrade; but these protests give me hope. I think the only words that are the right ones have long been said: Black Lives Matter.
Styles of acceptable 2019 posts:
1. Top Nine (non-negotiable)
2. Life’s great!
3. Life’s hard, but great, and I’m being honest on social media, which is certainly not trite.
2018 was recklessly fun, and posting on Instagram definitely didn’t contribute to the fun. Alas, here are some unedited photos of fun things. Not pictured, lots of non-photogenic, really fun things, like finally doing a good wheelie, and time with friends in poorly lit places. Here’s to an annual tradition of having the best year ever.
2019’s tick list (not resolutions) looks pretty fun, too.
I wrote out a long winded description of all the heinous red eyes, late night drives, sprints to the airport, and all-night editing benders, but it sounded a little pitiful. Regardless, think this one for @industry_nine falls into the sprint production category with 5 days shooting and 5 days of post to publishing. Stoked I have amazing friends who double as clients that let me do silly things like bash their product into rocks. Was a bit of a scary creative venture to keep things raw with camera movement and messy cuts, hope y’all like it. Thanks for the help @dylankmckinney @damangler @sarahnwoody and @quadsworth @jay_petervary for the athleticism!

Just about a year ago I came out of kayak retirement—then went right back in. Maybe this year it’ll stick. Upper Rocky Broad relit the fire and West Fork Pigeon, Pigeon Dries, high water noli with a huge crew, few bike shuttles, and Horsepasture kept the fire going! Really incredible week with some of the finest of folks.
Shouldn’t have, but did anyways. On a related note, set a new driveway to assigned seat PR for my 6 AM flight today, 20 minutes. #mentalhealthday

Fun month on the road chasing trucks around the continent but super stoked to get back home for some of this for a minute or two! Maybe we can bring back some of that lovely 70 degree February weather.
Wrapped on King of the Hammers '18! What a crazy shoot. Gonna miss catching the school bus every morning out to our locations.
Rad week pretending I'm a climber with @timstagramsss and a guest appearance from @jalob ! Got a little skunked on weather in Red Rocks so we hopped down to J Tree, but got a clear day in Vegas to put up Solar Slab and put down an equally challenging buffet. Off to OR, holler if you're in Denver or at the show!
